Asthma & Allergies

Asthma and allergies are medical conditions that involve the respiratory system and immune response. Asthma is a chronic respiratory disorder characterized by inflammation of the airways, leading to symptoms such as wheezing, coughing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness. Allergies, on the other hand, are immune system reactions to substances (allergens) that are usually harmless. Common allergens include pollen, dust mites, pet dander, and certain foods. Allergic reactions can manifest as sneezing, itching, hives, and more severe symptoms like anaphylaxis in some cases. Both asthma and allergies can significantly impact a person’s quality of life, and management often involves medications, lifestyle adjustments, and, in some cases, allergy immunotherapy.
